Hey r/aquariums, I have a few years of fish experience under my belt, but they're mostly with Large community tanks and schooling fish. I recently moved to my new place and bought a new 75 gallon to brighten up the living room. Usually it's vote on what to stock the tank with, but since I'm now living alone, I get to choose. I've always wanted to get 1 or 2 larger fish were you can see them as pets and not decorations. That's why I've narrowed my choices down to Red Oscars or Needle Nose Gar. I will upgrade the tank once they get a bit bigger, but I'll start with the 75. Any info on these larger fish would be helpful. Also I was thinking of adding a Pictus Catfish to keep the tank moving making the total at most 2-3 fish.
