Friendly reminder! Research before you pick fish.
Post Body
I just want to remind all of those new starting aquarists to do research.
The place I work at some one has a small 2-3 gallon tank and I spotted 2 common goldfish and a silver gourami with no filter or air pump.
To those starting goldfish usually require filtration and all of those fish will grow to be 6 inches to 12 inches and the tank is far too little.
Talking to the owner they are luckily letting me adopt the fish and after a bit of chatting they said they were not surprised 3 of the other goldfish died.
I may set up the tank as a shrimp tank and maintain it at work, but at least soon the fish will be in a better tank.
TL;DR Baby fish can be deceptively small and the fish tank envirownt matters
