Help Me Get Started With Aquarium Automation
Post Body
I'm looking for open-hardware, open-source code to accomplish this, but I don't have a lot of time to build it all from scratch. So I'm perfectly happy buying something for this, but I want to be able to hack on it if I want more features later. Something raspberry-pi and/or arduino based sounds good, but I'm open-minded.
My ideal monitor system has:
- simple web interface - at least serve up the data files, and I can make something with js
- video monitor - this would probably be separate from the arduino, but if it was integrated I certainly wouldn't complain
- aquatic temperature probe
- outlet switching - so I can control heaters, lights, and fans
- automatic feeder interface - I'll probably have to get creative or rip open an off-the-shelf automatic feeder, but I'm willing and able.
Any high-tech aquarium guys out there willing to share their wisdom? What do you use for your setup?
