Anyone know anything about mussels?

I have three, two in a four foot tank and one in a 65L. After some time I realised I couldn't find one so I went searching in the substrate and found it. It does seem to be alive as its slightly open but it looks way worse than the shiny other two and I don't know why. Does anyone know, or know where I could ask, about what's going on?
Its the one in the front in the first photo. I moved it into my 65L as the substrates too shallow for it to completely bury itself so it's easier to watch.
