Some neighbors were getting rid of their old aquarium, an old 55 gallon, so of course I snagged it! The largest tank I've ever had was a 10 gallon, so I'm very new to one this size. I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed with the possibilities.

I'm gonna need to get a filter, (I'm thinking something rated for larger than 55g, just because). More gravel, (in my 5g I had Seachem Flourite, but it's gonna be really expensive buying enough for the 55g) So maybe I'll just get regular gravel? Probably a heater, too.

I want to do live plants, maybe some large pieces of driftwood, etc. Is the Seachem absolutely necessary for this?

And stocking ideas. I definitely want Angels, a plecco, some shrimp and snails. Probably some sort of schooling fish. No idea what yet, though.

Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
