I make 25-27k gross income a year, live on my own, and pay for everything myself. I have around 18k total in savings because I worked my ass off and have been eating ramen noodles and rice with shitty clothes and little to no furniture nickle and diming everything. I filed independently because I'm 23 turning 24, and couldn't file until now because my parents were deadbeats who didn't do their tax returns and had no interest in helping me. Why is my estimated FAFSA Pell grant 2300 for the whole year? I am so incredibly frustrated that people who don't work but live with their parents get close to if not the max(around 6k), while I'm barely staying afloat paying my rent and buying necessities.
