A0's do you google terms in essays that you do not know or just skip over it?

My school motto is in Latin. I want to just put it in to finish my essay but I dont want to explain what it means to them. I would prefer if they look it up and see for themselves (I feel like it would have a greater effect) but if the admin officer decides to ignore it because they don't know what it means I will lose out a lot.
So TL DR if i put latin at the end of my essay and dont explain what it means will they look it up or just ignore it.
