UCSB Chancellor Reception

I recently got invited to the UCSB Chancellor Reception. I heard from college confidential threads that this means you were accepted. I applied under the College of Creative Studies for Writing and Literature (had to submit a portfolio). Does anyone have information regarding this (does this mean I was accepted in the college and CCS) or the reception itself?
