How can I make my Common App essay about a mental health struggle not sound like a trauma dump? :(

Post Body

I would like to write about my experience with Hormonal Birth Control to answer the prompt about a struggle that has taught you more about yourself and others. I've posted a previous question asking if this would be a good idea, but a lot of people said that I shouldn't trauma dump or write about mental health issues at all. I kind of think thats BS though... I don't really understand this because I feel like just answering the prompt and talking about any general struggle could be read as trauma dumping. I really don't think a mental health struggle is something that is too sensitive, especially if I that's not the primary focus of my essay. I would like my essay to highlight how I found my passion in the psychiatric field through this experience and how I learned about how mental health presents itself and how to support the people around me. The last thing I want it to be taken as is a trauma dump. Could I get tips on how to not sound like im trauma dumping in an essay where I'm just sharing my story and sharing what I learned from it?
