Can I write about an imaginary devilish creature in my common app essay? Or is that too risky?

Post Body

So, after struggling for months on the common app essay, I've finally been struck by a great idea, but it sort of involves a fictional devilish fiend.

Essentially, I had created a devil character a while back for a project of mines, but ended up liking the character so much that he sort of became my mascot. In the essay, I kind of made it sound like he actually existed and was actively giving creative advice and inspiration (I also referred to him as "the devil" in an effort to save word count)

So I was wondering if that was too risky of a move or if it's fine and I can use the essay?

Footnote: I'm not applying to any faith-based colleges and am not religious (if any of that matters at all)
