how to keep a toploading HE washer in top condition
Post Body
The user's manual for our washing machine (a Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart, if that matters) recommends we run a cleaning cycle 5-6 times a year and, "Add about 2 scoops of a powdered detergent that contains phosphate." That's not an easy find, any more; phosphates have been eliminated from every detergent in every store anywhere near my home, as far as I can tell. So, does anyone know of an effective alternative?
