Do you think a new iPad Air will be announced this year w/ an M1(or successor) processor? Should I wait?

I'm interested in buying an iPad Air for notetaking for my job. Since it's for my job price really isn't a major object since I'll be deducting it on my taxes anyways. While I don't currently see myself getting heavier use out of it than that, I want to buy as new of an iPad as possible to future proof it both hardware and software wise with OS updates, etc. I don't want to buy an A14 iPad Air just for an iPad Air with a literal laptop processor inside of it to be announced. Have any of you heard any news/rumors on this subject?
