i5 vs i7 for Macbook pro 2017 (for a dev)

As an ios dev, i spent a lot of my time with xcode. I have the late 2013 model (2.4ghz i5, 8gb ram, 256gb ssd) and think I'm due an upgrade.

I'm currently en route to get the macbook 2016 with touchbar (16gb ram, 512gb ssd) but unsure about forking extra for the i7 (3.5gb turbo boost upto 4ghz) or stick with the i5 (3.1ghz turbo boost up to 3.5ghz).

I use xcode, chrome, slack, spotify etc. all at the same time so 16gb ram would do me good along with the large ssd. Although not sure how much a difference the i7 would make.
