Friend keeps disappearing in Apple Watch sharing

Hi there, a friend keeps constantly disappearing in sharing. Normally I would say okay shit happens and try to disconnect and reconnect but we tried that already more than once. Any ideas what to do now?
Because I’m out of ideas and we want to start a competition but yeah... that’s not possible now🥲
