Request: App for monitoring heart rate during public speaking

Hi! Here's what I want to do: I joined a public speaking group to help improve my comfort level speaking in front of groups. Basically, I want to monitor my heart rate during my speaking slot each week, and track if its going down and by how much. I assume a lower heart rate would mean I am improving.

What's the best way to achieve this? Ideally don't want to log this as a workout, because I also always document my time in the gym and it will mess with those numbers.
