Need 2 questions answered before I buy a watch.

How useful do you find the watch/what do you use it most for?
This is the more important question. I hate running with my phone, has anyone used the watch without the phone and how accurate was it? I'm sure it's very accurate with the phone and I know it needs to be calibrated with the phone but after that how good was it.
