I thought it would be worthwhile to inform AW users of the realities of sleep apnea. I often see people suggesting others have sleep apnea, or claiming they have sleep apnea, due to waking during the night.
While no one on Reddit can say whether or not you have sleep apnea, waking up occasionally throughout the night is normal and indicative of healthy sleep patterns. People with sleep apnea wake up 5-30 times per hour, and can have hundreds of wake events over the course of the night. If you have less than 10 wake events during the night, those events are likely not indicative of sleep apnea. Of course your mileage may vary, and I have no doubt every exception will show up to comment in this thread.

You can also Google sleep apnea walking events per night and find unlimited other corroborating sources.
