I just recently got an iPhone X and wanted to give Apple Music a try. Been a long time fan of Spotify but friends were fans and wanted to try something new.
I am trying to add music not on Apple Music from the internet (see: Chance the Rapper's "Acid Rap" mixtape) to my iPhone. It allows me to do this when my phone is connected to my computer and I have iCloud Music Library turned off. I can then turn iCloud Music Library on from my iPhone X and add the albums I'd like from Apple Music.
This does not however allow me to add anything new I've downloaded to my iPhone X music library. Whenever I try to add something new it tells me that I can't because I have iCloud Music Library turned on... which if I turn off will remove all of the albums I downloaded from Apple Music.
Is there something I'm missing? I thought I would be able to listen to these things seamlessly?
My setup: iPhone X up to date OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.5 iTunes version: 12.7.2.60
