I only really favorite a song if I love it AND also want in my library. Songs I like in general I’ll add to my library as well. But does Apple Music use “adds” to suggest similar music I may like? Or is it only basing recommendations off of my “favorites” and “suggest less” songs?

I really wish there was a “like” button too, because lately my recommendations have been trash. Either music I’ve listened to already, or suggestions based off music I haven’t listened to in a long time but possibly had been favorited. For example, I listen to a variety of genres, but for a period of time I listened to a lot of metalcore artists. Now over a year later I still get metal recommendations that I don’t like. I’m not sure if it’s bc I listen to metal that’s in my library still, or because I favorited metal songs last year. The Discovery station is okay, but it usually picks 1 genre I’ve listened to recently and only suggests songs from it.

I’ve been using Apple Music since 2015, but lately I’m not impressed and the algorithm seems to be getting worse for me. Any suggestions? I know the app has changed a lot over the years. Any new methods of use I’m missing?
