TuneIn radio stations now playing pre-roll ads

I noticed today that many internet radio streams available on Apple Music via TuneIn now play a short “TuneIn” stinger and a pair of audio ads when starting the stream (it doesn’t appear to happen on larger stations like BBC Radio 1 or The Current). These same streams don’t play pre-roll ads when played directly in TuneIn.

This hasn’t happened for the entire duration Apple has offered TuneIn streams. Is it a new monetization push from TuneIn or (hopefully) a temporary configuration glitch on calling the streams on Apple’s part?
