ApplePay an AppleCard not accepted at the Genius Bar

My 2-year-old wrecked my wife's laptop. Thankfully we have AppleCare and only had to pay 99 dollars to fix things.

They don't accept ApplePay at the Genius Bar. I thought it was kind of amusing. They tried to run it as a regular card and couldn't then used the numbers from the wallet app to try and run it as a regular card. Nope. Not permitted. The Genius Bar guy was baffled and another employee finally stopped him from spinning his wheels more and explained they don't accept the card at all for Genius Bar AppleCare transactions.

Maybe this was just a wild pack of idiots at the Genius Bar or they truly don't accept the AppleCard for that kind of transaction in the Apple store. Either way...
