Pet peeve I guess. News for anyone that doesn’t know so you can be ready. 1. It’s cold in the late winter and early spring. Even down south. 2. Mountains have been eroding for countless time. When the dirt washed away, it leaves rocks. There will be millions of rocks. Not just in pa. Wear shoes that protect your feet. Ballet slippers like trail runners will hurt your feet. Especially if you’re walking all day every day. 3. Rain makes the weather feel colder. 4. It’s gonna rain 5. Pointless up and downs are part of being remote. Most of the land the trail is on is unsuitable for farming and housing. Why it’s not a city. 6. There will be crackheads, drunks, hillbillies, rude hikers, people that poop on trail ( literally) and some of the best people you’ll probably ever meet in your life. 7. There are many cultures on trail. They won’t all be relatable to you. Learn it’s ok to be different. 8. We are lucky to have this trail. Countless volenteers have built, rebuilt and redesigned it. ( even if I bitch about amc or atc, and some other governing organizations.). 9. You are stronger than you can comprehend
My two cents. Mun.
