Yes, I know, this is incredibly niche and unlikely to make any money in the short term, but I think it'd fly (GET IT?!) with a certain, ever growing group of people.
You open the app, and you're given a very simple full-screen representation of "OK to Go" or "Caution" or "No Fly Zone". Swiping to the side gives you a map of nearby (drone-reachable) locations with prominent overlay of red bars on restricted flying areas.
Ok to Go would be a go with few or no conditions - clear skies in all reachable areas.
Caution would be a go with conditions - nearby restricted airspace (within a few miles).
No go would mean your GPS location is directly in a no-fly zone.
As drone rules become more robust and public no-fly lists become a thing, those could be added as options/toggles so that a pilot can feel safe flying around an area.
Silly idea, I know, but I really wanted to share it.
Edit: Update! I believe you can find the public data from the no-fly map here: https://github.com/mapbox/drone-feedback/tree/master/sources/geojson
