Ductless heat pump/ac unit?

A little info, I live in a 3 story townhouse. My room, on the 3rd floor, doesn't get much ac from the heat on the first floor. There was already a window unit in my room when I moved in, but I hate it and want a ductless, wall mounted, hvac unit. I know its a long shot but has anyone convinced their landlord to have one installed? If so, how did you go about it..
