Trying to state my needs in a healthy way with a brand new person

Post Body

I met someone online about 6 weeks ago. We went on two dates about a month ago, and then there was a month gap between us seeing each other again due to illness and travel. He has never been a consistent texter, leaving up to 2 days between texts which was hard for me but I used it as an opportunity to self-soothe. We saw each other again a week ago and were intimate and discussed exclusivity. Then I didn't hear from him for 48 hours. We set up another date, and then he cancelled it because he wasn't feeling well. After that I didn't hear from him for 3 days. Today he checked in and apologized saying he was super busy with work, etc. Honestly I thought he was ghosting me and had spent the last 3 days being really upset about it. Would it be wrong of me to tell him that and let him know that I think we should talk about our needs and wants to see if we're on the same page? I'm trying to strike a balance between coming off as needy and not addressing my needs at all.
