OK...sounds weird, I know. I honestly donāt know if this belongs in r/anxiety or maybe some grief sub-reddit, but Iām hoping I find help here. I had a really, really close friend who was my āperson,ā and we both kinda dealt with a lot of social anxiety. We were like each otherās anchors. We did everything together and went everywhere together and two anxious people together made for a fun time with no anxiety rather than doubleāour presence helped each other feel at ease and less alone.
Are you ever in a store or maybe a crowded place or something and a bad anxious habit is to go on your phone and pretend to look at things? Our coping strategy was to do text each other through stuff. She might be on the toilet and Iām texting her saying everything Iām doing or whatever and then maybe āsry Iām anxious af and telling u helps bc i feel like iām doing something lol.ā
Well, I canāt really do that with other people because I think my friends are too nice to tell me theyāre annoyed (lol thereās anxiety again), but I also donāt want to be so needy and bothersome anyway. Also, my friend died, and I do message her responseless Snapchat (her number is someone elseās now), but I know Iām talking to myself and I would never get a reply.
Is there such thing as some app that you can kinda send messages to and it could respond with random phrases or just, āOK, sounds great! :)ā or something? As you can see, Iām shit at explaining what Iām trying to find, so itās hard to search for this. I also didnāt really want to bother a real person about it, i.e. a counselor. I guess like an interactive or responsive diary???
Thanks!
