My panic attacks have gotten so bad that I thought I was losing my mind and at one point my whole body went numb. Does anyone else experience this?

Over the weekend I started having worsening panic attacks. I’ve struggled with anxiety pretty much since I birth..but this was really terrifying and didn’t seem like anything I’d ever experienced before. I convinced myself that I was about to go into psychosis and couldn’t calm myself down. It’s important to note I had a mild concussion in mid January so that could be making my anxiety worse... Anyway, I have also been experiencing what my therapist says is stress related dissociation.

I also had a day where for about 20 minutes my whole body felt almost numb from the overload. I didn’t feel like I was panicking like usual but I just kind of checked out and my mind was so disconnected from my body that when I went to be adjusted by my chiropractor I could barely feel anything she was doing. I just felt warm and numb all over. It was intense.

Has anyone ever felt this before?

Thank you! It’s reassuring just to know that other people experience it too. It’s terrifying to get an idea in my head that I’m going to slip out of reality or something and then I can’t get back in control for a while.
