When you think you’d been doing well but then you have two days of crippling anxiety

Post Body

Hi, it’s my first time posting. I’ve had life long GAD (generalised anxiety disorder) my earliest memory being from when I was 4 years old, I’m not 27. I’ve been doing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy seeing a psychologist for almost 3 years now. So last week I decided to cancel my next two appointments coming in the next month to see how I would go, since I had been feeling quite positive like I was finally learning to control my emotions and feelings. And of course, ive had the two worst days ever. Called in sick to work yesterday, and today tried to pull myself together and go in to show them I’m trying but as soon as I got into my usual room I broke down. They now want a clearance for me to come back (ridiculous I know) so I’ve come to the realisation that I may need to try meds with seeing the psychologist. But I’ve always been horrendously terrified to take anxiety meds or antidepressants. What’s everyone’s experiences? What are you on? Did you gain weight or have any crazy side effects. Help me please.
