Weaning off Xanax

Post Body

I’ve been on Xanax for years & because I have other health issues I’m having (severe anemia), my doctor wants to do diagnostics to find the cause. The first thing he wants me to do is a colonoscopy, which I absolutely do not want to do. He’s the prescribing physician for the Xanax.

Do I have to go to him for medically supervised weaning? The only reason I even go to the doctor is to get my refills. There is no law that says I HAVE to have an annual physical. If I get cancer, I have no intention of fighting it. This has been my position for years, I’m not going to poison myself to live a few extra miserable months.

Buy my anxiety is real. I wish I’d never started the Xanax & found a better way to manage.
