I just need to rant.

Three days ago, I received an email that shocked me. It said I had created an account with a password I donā€™t even remember, only to realize it was from one of the companies I had applied to, which I donā€™t even recall. I decided to ignore it until I forgot about it. Then yesterday, I started receiving numerous calls, which I assumed were interview calls.

However, every time I answered, no one responded. Finally, I received a call where someone answered and mentioned the company. She said I applied through LinkedIn, which I honestly donā€™t remember. I guessed the caller was in her 40s or 50s based on her voice and how she spoke. When I told her I didnā€™t remember, she hurriedly said, ā€œWait, lamg tawagan kita ulitā€ which raised a red flag for me due to its unprofessionalism. Nevertheless, I decided to ignore it.

Today, I woke up in a call, and I obviously recognized her tone. The same scenario repeated, with her asking if I remembered applying through LinkedIn, to which I just said yes, even Iā€™m not šŸ˜…

She started explaining about the company, which I didnā€™t remember much about, but it seemed to be related to forex and investments, even though Iā€™m not familiar with them. It was already obvious to me that something was off and sketchy. She asked about my age, work, and then started talking about banks and cards, she asked me if I can provide with my card number lol. I wanted to hang up but didnā€™t want to be rude, so I said I didnā€™t have any cards.

Then she asked, ā€œsan kaba nakatiraā€! With the higher tone! which was annoying. I told her to call back later because I had errands to run. She asked when she could call again and what time, and honestly, I wanted to block her, but I realized she was using a different number. Itā€™s obvious this is a scam! I've noticed there are so many scams on LinkedIn, and itā€™s surprising to find out you applied for a job/company you donā€™t even remember.

Be careful with these schemes, they think they can fool me! Kaloka lang.
