I made this post not too long ago detailing my relationship with my parents and how they happen to be rather controlling. So that post was actually prompted by my parents coercing me into leaving my dorm for home (they are both in different cities) and now they are refusing to let me go back to my university unless I agree to live with my mother there (she is planning on getting a flat on rent, doesn't have it yet though), the idea being that they would be able to monitor my actions were I to live with her. I absolutely dread living in such environments but they are saying that it's either that or *not being allowed to continue my studies* - which is a seriously big deal because I live in a third world country and we aren't wealthy or have any source of income in terms of land or whatever meaning if they make me drop out I would literally have no choice but to starve. Their rationale for this is that **I**:

- don't eat a lot when I'm living by myself: this is true, I only have like 1-2 meals a day instead of 3 and this has to do with the fact that I don't have that much of an appetite.

- am a "druggie": they use this label because I smoke weed to self medicate once or twice every week and threaten to put me in rehab centres (mind you, I live in a shithole of a country where rehab centres are absolutely horrendous). The only reason they know this is because they used to cosplay as progressive parents and would agree with my brother saying weed can be helpful and all so I opened up about my weed use and this is what I get. I would like to add that in no ways whatsoever have I ever been addicted to weed - I don't have any access to it at home and I never felt any urges or irritability even when I went months without any use whatsoever. I smoke like 1/3rd or half a joint once or twice a week. Sometimes thrice. That's not too much right?

- they say I drink alcohol: THIS IS BLATENTLY FALSE I FIRST HAD IT WITH MY MOTHER IN THE FORM OF VODKA AND DIDNT LIKE IT AND MY ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION IS PRETTY MUCH NIL. I don't understand how they can blatantly lie like this and absolutely refuse to believe me when I say I don't have it?????

- don't take my meds: this is because they make me feel suicidal and like a zombie and also make me very numb but when I tell them this they belittle me by saying I'm an idiot who has been provoked by people on the internet into not taking my meds and that I should listen to psychiatrists since they have a degree and went to med school and know more than me.

So they are saying I can either live with my mother or drop out and stay at home. I refuse to live with them because it is not even remotely conducive to my mental well being and I also don't want to stay at home as a protest because it annuls any employability prospect I may have and it will give them the satisfaction of being right (I told them I won't live with them and they said it's because I'm a junkie and can't imagine living without drugs - yes a junkie who smokes one blunt at most every week)

What can I do? Please help me. I have money in my bank account and already have my flight booked for tomorrow but they may call the police on me if I leave or they will come themselves and cause drama in my college campus and that sounds incredibly embarrassing and I don't want it to happen. What are my options?

Please help me. Also can anyone tell me if they are in the right? Or something? I feel like I'm being gaslit but I honestly can't tell anymore. Am I insane? I don't know why they gotta behave like this. Can someone tell me if I'm wrong? I'm absolutely okay with people being blunt and telling me that. I just wanna know who's in the right here.
