I'm going to start this by saying that Destiny and Warframe are my two most played video games of the 8th console generation, and that these games have built my opinion of what a Looter-shooter should be.
Anthem at face value has the same core game play of Destiny, (They will try to kill you, kill them back) with the combo system from Mass Effect. Pulled together with a similar, but so much slower movement system of Warframe. Add in a beautiful world that revivals some of Bungie's strongest efforts (see The Taken King mission: Regicide). This should tie into an epic game that i can play for months and not be bored. Yet thirteen days after i began Anthem the base game play has become boring the open world has lost its wonder, and my javelin has begun to rust.
Edit: I've enjoyed Anthem this post wasn't meant to say i haven't. I was trying to say that this formula that Anthem has should so easily make me want to keep playing and trying new things, yet for all the positives this game almost feels empty.
