The Ann Arbor Building Boom

Walking around downtown makes you realize Ann Arbor is in the midst of a building boom.
There are certainly cons in addition to the pros, but I think it is a net positive in terms of density and vibrancy, jobs, taxes, and retail and entertainment options.
If I could add a wishlist:
- More housing for the middle class.
- More plants of all kinds, but especially trees. I love that summer feeling of green foliage spilling onto the sidewalk.
- Better public transit. How about autonmous shuttles circling around downtown?
- I honestly believe all multi-family units should be required to have balconies. It activates the public realm, puts “eyes on the street,” and I think all humans should have a little slice of the outdoors.
