One outs is show that is rated quite highly by most who have watched it but a decade after it aired it seems like no one talks about this show.

It is centered around an extremist gambler who plays for a baseball team and his journey to fulfill a bet to take the team to the championship. However despite it being a sports anime is more about Toua Tokuchi and how he beats his opponents using mind games and strategies. Every opponent his team faces is objectively better whether it's in terms of players, tactics or simply by cheating but he uses human psychology and his brilliant mind to overcome these obstacles. The main antagonist is the owner of the team whi views Tokuchi as a threat to his income so he tries his best to make his own team lose thus putting Tokuchi in seemingly impossible scenarios.

This show isnt about baseball (in fact you dont need any knowledge about the sport to enjoy this), it's about a badass character unfazed by any obstacles using his mind to overcome anything in order to win. It takes a while to set up everything and I can understand people finding the first 2 or 3 episodes boring but once it gets going it never stops.

If you love mind games, psychological warfare or a badass main character then this is definitely the show for you.
