Okay, this is gonna get a little long and does not actually contain a finished piece and I apologize in advance. In addition to that, these anatomical attempts look terrible but I decided to suck it up and post it anyway to get some help. When I do my daily gesture exercises, I usually also want to work on something fun so my sessions don't get too boring. Here's that something "fun". I decided that I'm just going for what angles are easy and not what looks cool which is not a good way to improve so I challenged myself with the one subject I have most trouble with; anatomy incorporating depth. So I decided to do a 3/4 view. I think the head turned out okay but it just goes downhill from here.
After several attempts I wanted to see if anyone can spot my core problem so I will post all the attempts I made tonight on this pose.

First off, the legs always look so weird. The way they overlap in 3/4 view is confusing. Furthermore, I can't tell when they are supposed to be fatter around the thigh region and get thinner along the knees, they always seem to just be one size and look stupid.
Second, the perspective on arms is REALLY hard. I've never really had an easy time with arms but man was this one bad. The pose was supposed to be a person in a hoodie looking up and having their hands in their hoodie pockets so naturally her arms are close to her body but the lower arm always looks too small and the proportions always go out of whack in perspective. Also, the arm on her left is out of mostly out of view, If I don't represent it properly it looks like she has no arm, If I do it looks mutated.
Third, the center-line and torso overall are hard to orientate, if I match it up perfectly the drawing looks stiff and soulless, when I try to relax it looks like someone with scoliosis falling over. The box approach was a flop but the gesture one seemed to hold it together somewhat.
In conclusion, what areas of this attempt suck the most? What are some easily correctable mistakes? What equations or tools do you use to make perspective not torture?
Thanks so much for taking the time to help out and I appologize for polluting the sub with long winded essays and dull drawings. I promise I will contribute something fun in like... many months later when I get better I guess.
EDIT: Oh crap, I was supposed to use my throwaway and I forgot. Well now you know...
