Hi, I hope you are doing well. I have had a wall open for several months while I tried to treat and get rid of mold. I was not able to get rid of it all myself, so we are hiring professionals now instead. They have told us that we have to put everything away and get it out of the room for them to work. I am worried that my figure boxes, model kit boxes, manga, etc. are going to grow mold while stored from all the spores that have likely gotten on them. I'm going to be putting plenty of silica gel packets in the totes, but I'm worried the spores will still have enough humidity, darkness, and warmth to start growing since the totes are likely going to be stored in a garage. Is there any way I can get the excess spores off the boxes without damaging them? Anything else besides silica gel packets that I should do to try and prevent mold growth during storage?
Edit: To be clear, the boxes do not currently have any visible mold growing on them.
