Why shouldn’t you spend diamonds on the gachapon doll sale?

Seen a couple comments saying it’s not effective to use your diamonds on the gachapon event but was wondering why? Some of the dolls pop up incredibly rarely so I always thought it was a fair deal to use that event for a little boost.
