So I know enough about Canadian geese to know that a goose I have spotted on my commute has been abandoned by it's flock or lost it's mate. It has been in this little pond near by on the side of a highway for at least a week now. Everyday I check to see if it's gone on it's way, sadly it has not. Some days it's curled up in a ball in the brush some days it's chilling on a log in the pond. Yesterday it was wondering really close to the highway (hoping it's not THAT sad) I have returned to take it's photo from afar all looks good and healthy. But I wonder if there is anything to do for it. I know there are 3 likely outcomes, new flock, mourn to death, or be happy living alone...Would there be any benefit to it being rescued by a local bird sanctuary? Or should I just leave it be and continue to watch it's journey.
