Can't Court multiple amiibos at the same time?

Edit: we've waited until the next day and it still says everyone but Lopez is unavailable.
We used the Lopez amiibo, but the stuff he wants us to do for him to move in is too expensive. We waited until the next day, tried using other amiibos, but it says they're "not available," and Lopez is the only one we can use.
Are we locked into Lopez and can't use other amiibos until we get him to move in, or are we noobs missing something obvious? Thanks for your help!
