Angular forms - How the the hell do I turn off autocomplete for my address line 1 field

I have an Input with a google places autocomplete directive attached to it but when the user clicks into the address line 1 input autocomplete suggestions appear - Obviously I've tried autocomplete="off" but it simply doesn't work so the user has the Chrome address suggestion over the top of the Google places dropdown - very frustrating
I've replicated in standard HTML and it works
