Is Angular Material using the latest Material design spec?

I am using Angular Material in a project and the designer has built his screens using the material design spec but some of my screens look slightly different. I have removed all other CSS files from the project and it appears these weren’t causing the slight changes. For instance outlined form fields are using different width borders, padding and font size.
Is the latest version of Angular material using the latest CSS from material.io?
