So I messed up and I think I put my poor fishies in too soon before my tank was done cycling and even though I was doing daily water changes and adding ammonia detoxifier I think that it still stressed them out too much the point they all got sick. I initially thought it was ich because the other fish that died had white spots all over. so I treated my tank for that but now that I'm doing more research I don't think it's that. I've added melafix and salt to my tank now and am about to do another water change, please help! I'm pretty sure my angels are gonna die but I want to know what this is to prevent it or properly treat it in the future, thank you!
Thank you, yeah I shouldn't have listened to the advice of the people at petco, that was my bad, I put them in a week afterwards, and as you'd expect there were ammonia and nitrite spikes, I tried following the advice of people who do fish in cycles but I guess that wasn't enough. Poor fishies 😠I feel so bad. I have two other tanks that are currently cycling the correct way though so hopefully this won't happen again or to this extent .
Thank you! I'll look it up! I dunno what it is exactly, my danios before they died were swimming at the top with white dots all over them gasping for air just like them slowly being taken over by the white fungus looking stuff. My remaining fish seem to be blind and swimming around aimlessly, probably in pain. I euthanized one of my angels that looked really bad but I was hoping I could save these last 3. I am at work right now unfortunately so I don't know what's going on in my tank right now :( it started with one of my danios having a white dot on its fins and then it slowly spread to everyone in the tank :(
Not that old, I definitely messed up putting them in my tank too soon and uping my load too soon as well. This all happened a week after I added 4 new angels to my 29 that already had 2 angels, and 6 danios in it. I was hoping they would be okay enough until my other tank finished cycling but alas it was not :( I put my fish in a week after I got the tank set up, and then added the newest fish 2 weeks after that
Yikes I will try, I didn't think about buying a heater that could go that high though so all I have right now are my ones preset to 78. I can try to make it to walmart which is the closest area for supplies tomorrow morning and get that in there to save my babies. Thank you so much!
I just got everything done, I hope they survive . Thank you!
Ah okay so it is ich! Thank you!! I'll continue to treat my tank for that

I really appreciate all the help 😊 and good news! 2 are still hanging in there, they don't look great though but at least they look better than the other ones did. So I already went ahead with the ich treatment yesterday and redosed today as per the instructions, and though it stains my water and decorations blue, if they survive it's worth it to me. I'll do another water change right now. Should I add, melafix and/or salt? I also have a conditioner with aloe that is supposed to stimulate slime coat and help with stress so I hope that will help. The angels that are alive are still at the top though and I worry they aren't getting enough oxygen but I don't want to turn on another filter because the flow will stress them out but I don't have any hose for my airstone yet. I spent way more money than I should have already trying to fix this, I should definitely keep this experience in mind for future purchases but I still love the hobby and hope I can have a successful big tank. My 5 gallon with white clouds is just fine at least .
