Can low ferritin cause this?
Post Body

Anyone ever have a crash? My iron has been low for two years. I got sick back in September then 2 weeks later woke up one day in complete fight or flight panic. I've seen a hematology dr and he agreed for two infusions but I still havnt heard back. I'm going to call again this week. Ever since October I've been stuck in 24/7 panic adrenaline fight or flight. I cannot get out of it. I can't even watch tv. I can't focus on anything my body feels so wired. Of course my Dr says it's anxiety. My ferritin was 7, then 10 then 23 in December but I still feel horrendous. My white blood cells are also high so it might be inflated ferritin. My hemoglobin is normal. All of this from years of heavy periods. I wake up every morning in pure panic, my whole body shakes. You can visibly see my hands shaking. I'm extremely dizzy, my vision feels off. Has anyone healed from this after infusions or supplements? 23 is still low enough to cause all of this? God I feel so awful. I don't feel like myself from all this stress for so many months. I want to laugh again, I want to play with my daughter. My heart rate also jumps upon doing anything. Just walking in my house it gets to 130s. Also very out of breath all the time. Oh, I've also completely lost my appetite from all of this and lost 50 pounds. I'm drinking water with fresh lemon and Himalayan salt for the electrolytes all day. All my other lab work is okay. B12 is only around 300 though and vit d around 40? Please share some success with me or some hope that it gets better. I'm afraid I'll be stuck like this forever.

Low ferritin can definitely cause this. I was having panic attacks and heart palpitations from my ferritin being 6. But you said you were sick in Sept. Was it COVID? This could also be a post-viral syndrome or long COVID type situation.
