HDMI ARC Issues with Netflix on Shield - External Soundbar

Hey folks,

My setup is an NVIDIA Sheild - HDMI to Vizio TV - HDMI from TV to Yamaha YAS-108 Soundbar.

I have two issues

1) On live channels app - I have local channels via a usb tv tuner. When there is static - or if there is a live channel feed with issues - my soundbar will make the most annoying tonal sound.

2) When I use netflix - anything with 5.1 sound - will not play audio. I have to mute and unmute and then it will work. Same thing happens when I fastforward or rewind - audio will be out - i will have to mute than unmute.

Not sure if the issue is the Nvidia Shield - the TV or the Soundbar - but I thought I would check here first to find out.

PS: If I use optical audio instead of HDMI ARC - none of these issues occur.
