Hi people,
My current phone (Blackview BV9900) and previous phone (Cat S60) both started out great and I used them both for car navigation every day. Then as time went on, the performance of the GPS service declined, on both phones. Now the sat nav apps are useless to me. Sometimes they know where I am right now, but most of the time it's stuck searching, then sometimes it thinks i'm driving in the field 20 metres off, then it'll get stuck. Completely un-useable. I drive a lot, and need the GPS functionality.
I have tried changing the location to high accuracy, I have tried using it with high accuracy turned off. I have tried waze, and other satnav apps, I have tried doing the calibration within google maps. I have tried turning phone on and off, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I have tried using the phone in the car, I have used the phone out in the open with no types of physical obstruction. I have smacked the phones a few times out of frustration (they're both rugged phones and rated to take the abuse). The problem persists.
My thoughts are that they are both using the same make and model of GPS chip, and they're just generally faulty chips. I've tried to google what model they are, but no luck. I want to be able to fix this in an ideal situation, or at best, not have the problem again on a phone I purchase in the future.
Any input?
