Access windows files over LAN?
Post Body

I feel like this is a stupidly-easy question, but I just can't seem to find a good answer out there. I want to be able to grab a file off a windows box at home from my tablet. Now I have a lot of great cloud options certainly, but most of those require you to upload specific files to your dropbox or whatever ahead of time. I can Remote Desktop in and transfer files to one of these cloud services, but that seems ridiculous.

Is there a simple way to connect to my computer, browse through the files and download a specific file (say a movie) directly? I've tried some FTP kind of setups and those (for some reason) haven't exactly worked for me.

Edit: the problem appears to be reasonably solved with a SAMBA client. I'm working through a root and then I'll check that out. Thanks all.
