Some video links try to save / open as "DASHPlaylist.mpd"

Can anyone help me, why do video links from v.redd.it on my Android try to "save file" as "DASHPlaylist.mpd"?
They don't auto open and play, and I can't open the file if I download it. I can't find any info online other than ".mpd" seems to be a music playlist format, and v.redd.it is so far the only source of this issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
