Not getting voicemail notifications?

I'm trying to sort out my mums phone which isn't getting voicemail notifications. It's a Samsung galaxy core prime on Virgin media (UK). It's on Android version 5.1.1. There's nothing in voicemail settings apart from changing the number to ring and there's nothing in actual voicemail except changing the greeting. She still gets the missed call notification. Any ideas?

Have tried pressing 4 then 1 in voicemail menu and it doesn't recognise 4 as a valid number. Have also tried going through notifications and apps and there's nothing in there for voicemail.
