Forgive me if this is answered elsewhere, I tried searching reddit and found nothing. I've tried general internet searches too, and all I find are conflicting answers or half-answers.
I just want to know: On a rooted phone, is it possible to remove the Google search bar from the home screen, and still maintain Google voice recognition & search functionality?
I think it is beyond ridiculous that from the homescreen, there are 2 ways to access Google search, one of which (the bar at the top) takes up a stupid amount of screen space and there is no built-in option to customize its look or placement.
I at least want it gone, but optimally would like to free up that screen space for app shortcuts, and again, want to maintain Google voice recognition.
I appreciate any straight answer or links that my be provided, and again apologize if this is answered elsewhere, or if there's a better place I could ask.
