I just got the Galaxy S24 Ultra (which is obviously a brand new phone that literally only just launched a week ago) after previously using the Galaxy S22 . On my old phone, every single app would have its own custom sound that it would play for notifications.. And when I say custom, it was the actual native sound of the program. The Discord app played the same little sound when you get a message that it does on your computer. Facebook Messenger had that little ping sound, again just like the one you get on your computer. Even my emails and text messages had their own unique sound. It was fantastic because without even looking at or touching my phone, I would know what app just notified me from the sound. I think you get where I'm coming from.
But with my new phone, every apps notification sound is exactly the same, which is completely pointless. How the hell are you supposed to know just from hearing it which app is sending you a notification or a message?
Yes I do realize that in the settings, there is an option where you can manually change each individual app to have its own custom notification sound but A. That is completely ridiculous and a waste of time and B. The sounds that they DO have are just the generic Samsung ones that come preloaded onto the phone. They don't have the option for the apps native sound.
Someone even suggested that I should find and record every individual sound for every app that I want to have the sound for on my phone and then apply them individually. Fuck you, I am not doing that. That would take me literally an entire day with the amount of apps I have and use.
Come to think of it, I actually think that I had the same issue with my old S22 when I first got it a couple of years ago and it annoyed me back then too, but then after a while the regular noises just started happening.
Is this due to like a software update that hasn't been released yet or something? Is there a 3rd party app that I can download that will change them all over automatically? Do I just have to be patient and wait for the first major software update that will hopefully implement this incredibly basic, simple and useful feature that should have been there from the very beginning? What do I do?
